THRIFTY COOKING THURSDAY ~ HEATHER'S HOMEMADE BREAD!

Today on "Thrifty Cooking Thursday" we are making fabulous friend Heather's Homemade Bread Recipe!

What you need for a 1 1/2 lb. loaf.

1 C. + 2 TB. LUKEWARM WATER
1 1/2 TB. HONEY
3 TB. EVOO or REGULAR OLIVE OIL
1 TSP. SALT
3 CUPS WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR
(GENEROUS) SPRINKLE OF FLAX SEED
2 TSP. BREADMAKERS YEAST

ADD YEAST, HONEY & WATER.
YEAST WILL BEGIN TO BUBBLE. YOU WANT IT TO BUBBLE!

ADD THE REST OF THE INGREDIENTS AND KNEAD INTO A BALL.
COVER AND LET RAISE TILL ABOUT DOUBLE IN SIZE.

PLACE INTO GREASED BREAD PAN.

LET RAISE AGAIN TILL ABOUT DOUBLE.

BAKE 45 MINUTES @ 350*F.

AND THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL HAVE...

A BIT OF BUTTER ON WARM HOMEMADE BREAD...DOES IT GET ANY BETTER?

A FEW HELPFUL HINTS:
YOU CAN DO A 2 CUP WHITE FLOUR AND 1 CUP WHEAT INSTEAD OF 3 WHEAT.
YOU CAN ADD OATS, RAISINS, NUTS, ETC.
TO KNOW IF YOUR BREAD IS FINISHED BAKING PULL FROM PAN GENTLY AND PRESS HAND ON BOTTOM OF BREAD AND IF YOU CAN HOLD IT THERE FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN IT'S DONE!

THANKS TO HEATHER FOR THIS FABULOUS RECIPE!
MY HUBBY WAS A HAPPY MAN LAST NIGHT!

THANKS TO MY MOTHER-IN-LAW FOR HELPING!
