To make the lip balm I used
1/2 cup grated beeswax
1 tsp honey
3 vitamin E capsules
2 tb cocnut oil
Melt all ingredients together in a double boiler on low.
Once melted pour into your jars.
(I had enough to make 11.)
(I used bead making jars from Michaels. I paid $2.50 for 12. These are regular $4.99 but I used my handy dandy 50% off coupon!)
This is the easiest lip balm ever!!!
You could add more to it but I just left it plain jane.
And woo-lah here is the finished product!
I used local honey and beeswax which you can usually get at your farmers market.
This is also a great little gift!

ReplyDeleteYes I used 3 vitamin E capsules....fixed it thanks!
Thanks girls! Let me know if you try it! Like I said this is a really basic recipe that you can change and add different things. I probably will add olive oil next time or sweet almond oil.
ReplyDeleteHey! I will link this up in the next Frugalista Friday meme/hop if that's OK. :) I'll try not to forget. LOL!

ReplyDeleteQuestion: Tried this but can't seem to get the honey to melt with the beeswax. They both melt but honey stays in a layer on the bottom. Suggestions?
