It was great meeting you last Sunday!!! I work this weekend also so maybe we will bump into each other! Love the site!!! Renae H
ReplyDeleteAfter Christmas I stock up on Wrapping paper and bows for Christmas the FOLLOWING year..I REFUSE to pay full price for that stuff!!!
ReplyDeleteI use conditioner for shaving cream...a big bottle is a lot cheaper than a small can of shaving cream and my legs are just as soft.
ReplyDeleteMy fiance an I save all of our loose change throughout theyear. Its not technically a money saver but we usually cash in 800 dollars around xmas time! Beats charging!
ReplyDeleteI hit up consignment stores, Craigslist, and Ebay for my children's clothes. I have three kids, and they can be very expensive to buy for, but doing it this way, I get gently used, expensive name brand clothing for extremely cheap. I usually buy all three sets for an entire season for well under 200 dollars.
ReplyDeleteI save reward codes for products and turn them in for gift cards, toys, etc. I just received two $40 Sam's gift cards from Pampers Gift to Grow points :) That was a fun envelope to open!

I buy Christmas presents 1 year in advance and stock pile them away.
ReplyDeleteMy in-laws are so hard to buy for.....so every year, I make them a gift card "bouquet". Throughout the year, I purchase gift cards at the half-off website in my area called seacoastdeals.com. They have a new deal each Friday, and you can purchase a $50 gc for $25. At Xmas time, I usually have 10-15 gift cards to local restaurants, car washes, shoe stores, etc. I wrap each one in pretty paper and arrange them nicely in a basket using the plastic thingy's that hold a card in a flower arrangement. It's great to look at and something they totally look forward to every year!!
ReplyDeletei buy big roasts and after i cook them i cut them up in thin slices and free them in little baggies and i make my husband sandwiches everyday to bring to work. saves alot of money so he doesnt have to go to fast food places and not to mention healthier:)
ReplyDeleteI learned extreme frugal-ness out of necessity. When staples are on sale, I always load up. The day after a holiday, all the stores put holiday items on clearance. It's a great time to stock up, or just buy candy treats. I could go on and on.

One way we save money is a family shower. My munchkins are 3 and 1 so for the time being it helps! While I am cleaning myself, they are playing and then I can scrub them both down quickly. Not only are we saving water but time too!
ReplyDeleteI've learned where all the clearance sections are at my favorite stores (even the grocery store). They are the first place I head to when I'm out shopping. I've gotten some great buys that way.
ReplyDeleteBy using coupons and comparing the adds with them, my daughters and I share clothes, I usually either get the items deeply discounted, or free sometimes, I will shope the clearance isle to get even bigger savings.. Shoot with price of gas going up and up, I need as many discounts as I can..
ReplyDeleteI buy my daughter's clothes on clearance for the next year. She has a closet full of new clothes that cost a very small amount of money.
ReplyDeleteMeal planning saves me a lot if money. I used to waste all kinds of money on food that would go bad, but meal planning has helped eliminate a large portion of my food budget.
ReplyDeleteWe have regular trash pick up, recycle trash pick up, and bulk trash pick up. I do not throw any of my metal item in the recycle trash. I keep the items for myself and on bulk day we look for appliances to be taken away. My husband and I turn them in to our local recycling plant and take the proceeds usually at the least $40 to $60 and we split that between our kid's savings accounts each month. This is just an extra for them and the earnings have added up. Next tip we clip the coupons we want and then pass our coupon books between family members to clip what they want. It helps the whole family out. I could go on and on, but last tip I will share is using your credit card on all big purchases so that you can get points on your credit card to purchase gift cards for friends and family members for free.
ReplyDeleteWhen we use cash, I take the $1 and change and stick it into a jar that's been glued shut (except for a slip for the money) - we're saving it to actually go on a vacation next year!
ReplyDeleteI combine coupons with sales. but also do a lot of after holiday shopping to get clearance!
