FABULOUSLY FRUGAL HOMEMADE LAUNDRY SOAP!


THE RECIPE

1 C. GRATED SOAP 
(FELS NAPTHA, IVORY, ANY SOAP YOU WANT TO USE...I USED LYE SOAP, BUT HAVE USED IVORY & FELS NAPTHA TOO.)
1 C. BORAX
1C. PUREX
1 C. WASHING SODA


  1. In a stainless steel pot add 8 C. warm water on medium heat.
  2. Add the 1 C. grated soap.
  3. Stirring frequently until dissolved. (About 15 minutes.)

(Will bubble a bit.)


4. Remove from heat.
5. Add to soap mixture 1 C. Borax, 1 C. Purex, 1 C. Washing Soda.
6. Stir until dry detergent is dissolved.
7. Add 3 Gallons of warm water to bucket.
8. Add soap mixture.
9. Stir really well.


10. Cover with a lid.
11. Let sit 24 hours.
12. Will have a gelatin like consistency on top after the 24 hours. 
13. Stir really well.
14. Pour into containers after stirring. (Cleaned milk jugs, old laundry soap containers, pitcher, etc.)
15. Shake or stir before each use.
16. 1/2 C. - 1 C. per load.
