CHICKS DIG COUPONS "Giving Tote Challenge"!~ Dream Center of Jackson, TN

Earlier this month we talked about doing a "Giving Tote". Then donating at the end of the month. With all the fabulous savings and great freebies we were able to give BIG and spend LITTLE! 

This month, THE DREAM CENTER of JACKSON, was chosen to receive the "Giving Tote". We were so excited to be able to bless the women and their children that reside there. The "Giving Tote", clothes, and toys were really appreciated. Jody and I also toured the center with their representative Anne who was super friendly and informative. 

THE DREAM CENTER serves as temporary housing for women and their children who have experienced a crisis such as loss of employment, housing or other situations beyond their control. 

At this time 69 women and children are housed here. We were able to see the rooms that are beautifully decorated and spotless. The laundry room has several washers and dryers for the families to use. The community kitchen is roomy and inviting. The children's playground is so nice with all the toys. A craft time is also available for the kids once a week. The families stay from 6-9 months and upon leaving are employed and have housing. The success rate for the families staying employed and maintaining housing is 98%.

Services offered to the residents are GED classes, help with applications and resumes for employment, and devotional and chapel services. 

Jody and I can't wait to give next month's "Giving Tote"! THE DREAM CENTER is definitely a "DREAM" for these women and children who are in desperate need of a new start or hope for the future.
